It finally happened! Luka went to a hunt test and got 1st prize in beginners class! This qualifies him to compete in open class in the future. General appearance: “An evenly working dog. Clears today’s tasks very well”. Luka’s evaluation
04.09.2011 Kontiolahti, Tendency trial
Another try at tendency trial. Topi did a much better job this time. But… His self-confidence wasn’t good enough to complete the tracking part and the bunny was left in the forest. General appearance: “Dog that completes the tasks with good and steady pace. Unfortunately today the dog does not have enough self-confidence to complete the tracking task.”

14.08.2011 Joensuu All breed show
It feels so weird when the ring is scheduled to start at 12:45 and we only have 25 minutes drive to the venue. Usually we have to wake up in the wee hours when attending to a dog related happening…
Topi got Excellent and won the intermediate class with CQ. The highlight of the day was Topi’s Best male 4 placing and a res-CAC he got! The following sentence written by the judge felt really good: “This youngster showing power without lumber”. Topi’s evaluation

And so it was time for The Blonde-Man to go to his first hunt test of the year…
Luka went, did excellent work, run a honorary lap among the audience showing off his seagull, and thought like a true flatcoat that Ramin was only his chauffeur!
Luka got 3rd prize in beginners class and the judge was Markku Bräyschy.

Topi 20 months
We spend the weekend traveling and the last stop was INT show at Kuopio. Topi got wonderful result: he got excellent and won the intermediate class with CQ and was best male 4! Topi’s evaluation
23.07.2011 Vesanto Group show
Today at Vesanto’s Group show Topi won the intermediate class with Excellent but didn’t get CQ. The judge was Vera Smirnova from Estonia. Topi’s evaluation
09.07.2011 Lieksa tendency trial
A hot that started with an early morning wake-up at 04:30 and continued with a couple hours in the car heading towards Jongunjoki. It was clearly about to be a hot day, when we woke up it was already over +20°C and when the trial ended it was 28°C/84°F. The trial was held in a very beautiful spot, but the pine forest didn’t offer any shade significant shade. Luckily the days heat had been noted and the free search area was shortened by increasing the difficulty of the terrain. We thank the organizers for this.
Topi’s work in the water was excellent and in the free search the fact that we haven’t trained it much was visible. But his search was mostly effective and he brought five birds from the area. It’s quite telling of the days heat that Topi was completely dry by the time his free search task ended. And then it was time to wait for the tracking task to begin.
While waiting for the tracking task to begin Topi’s exhaustion was quite clear and his self-confidence ran out clearly while tracking. But we can be very satisfied with Topi’s work because he is young and he did his best despite his exhaustion and he was willing to obey each command to start working. A sign of his tiredness was that during the two hour drive back home he didn’t raise his head even once and he had to be woken up when we arrived at home.
And now we’ll continue training and see where we will try again, his tendencies and work motivation are perfectly fine!

13.06.2011 Topi 1,5 years
And so the time flies… Our little Swedish gentleman Topi (Miss Mallorys Third Time Lucky) turned 1,5 years day before yesterday.
