Nurmes NOME-Bhunt test

Tiukan koekuukauden viimeinen startti oli yhdistyksemme omissa kokeissa. Tällä kertaa Liperin tuttujen maastojen sijaan koe järjestettiin Nurmeksessa, jossa oli sateinen päivä ja mielenkiintoinen koemaasto.

Koe alkoi pitkällä vesimarkkeerauksella, jonka jälkeen jatkettiin pienellä hakuruudulla koealueen oikealle puolelle, josta piti noutaa kaksi riistaa. Haun jälkeen oli ohjaus lahden yli. Luka oli flätti ja yritti mennä rantaa pitkin lahden pohjukan kautta koska vedessä ei näkynyt mitään. Ohjauksen jälkeen siirryimme markkeeraukselle lahden pohjukkaan ja sitten hakuruutuun lahden pohjukan puolelle.

Koe ei loppupelissä ollut mitenkään älyttömän vaativa. Tällä kertaa Lukan flättiys oli vain niin vahvaa, että linjalle lähettäminen ei vain onnistunut. Tuloksena uran jo viides ALO2. Lukan koepöytäkirja

After a hard month of hunt tests the final start was in our clubs own test. This time we went far away from the familiar areas in Liperi up to Nurmes on a rainy day but found some interesting terrain.

The test started with a long water mark followed by a small free search in the right portion of the area – there was a bird and rabbit in the area. After this was the time for the guided retrieve over a small bay. Luka was a flatcoat and tried to go along the shoreline at the end of the bay since he couldn’t see any game in the water. After the guided retrieve there was a single mark to the end of the bay and then some more free search in the same area.

All in all, the test wasn’t too difficult. Luka was just too much of a flatcoat and used his own brain that the guided retrieve just didn’t work out the way the judge wanted it to. In the end Luka got his fifth second prize in beginners class. Luka’s evaluation

Haku: Tekee kummallakin alueella tehokasta hyvää hakua.

Free search: Does good efficient search in both areas.

Ohjattavuus: Ei ole tänään linjalle lähetettävissä.

Guided retrieve: Can’t be guided today.

Paikallistamiskyky: Suorittaa 1. markkeerauksen kiertäen mennessään rannan kautta, toisen markkeerauksen noutaa myös itsenäisesti, mutta voisi olla hieman suoraviivaisempi.

Marking: Goes around along the shoreline to the first mark. Retrieves the second mark independently but could be more direct.

Riistankäsittely: Pääosin hyvää, osa luovutuksista voisi olla parempia.

Game handling: Mainly good, could sometimes return to hand better.

Jäljestämiskyky: –

Tracking ability: –

Muut ominaisuudet: Pysyy paikallaan laukauksissa.

Other qualities: Stays in place during shots.

Yleisvaikutelma: Hyvin tänään markkeeraus- ja hakutehtävät suorittava koira jonka palkintosijaa laskee epäonnistunut linjalle lähetystehtävä.

General appearance: A dog that completes both the free search and marks well today, but whose prize is lowered by the failed blind retrieve.

Kootut selitykset: Saamarin flätti! :) Ei voi mitään. Luka näki ettei vedessä ollut mitään (ohjauksella) ja lahdukan pohja oli niin siinä hollilla, että rannan kautta kiertäminen olisi varmasti ollut nopeampaa… Ja sitten sillä toisella markkeerauksella piti tehdä mutka ja käydä äskeisen ohjauksen kohta tarkistamassa ensin. Hyvinhän tuo koira toimii, mutta kun sillä on ne omatkin aivot…
Excuses: Damn flatcoat! :) Well, it couldn’t be helped. Luka saw that there wasn’t anything in the water (during the guided retrieve) and the shore of the bay was so close that going along the shoreline would have surely been faster… And then on the second mark he had to go check the place where the guided retrieve would have ended and then retrieve the mark. He does work well, but unfortunately he has his own set of brains…

Leppävirta NOME-Bhunt test

Leppävirran koe oli päiväkoe, jossa kaikkien osallistujien tuli ilmoittautua samaan aikaan. Meidän epäonneksemme Lukalle oli onnetar arponut päivän viimeisen suoritusvuoron, joten työintoinen koira istui kaikkien muiden suoritusten ajan autossa odottamassa omaa vuoroaan. Ja kuten olettaa saattoi, Luka oli oman vuoronsa tultua melkoisen väsynyt.

Koe alkoi ohjauksella viistosti rannasta poispäin, jonka jälkeen oli kakkosmarkkeeraus veteen ja rannan kaislikkoon. Markeerauksen jälkeen oli pääosin kosteassa kaislikossa oleva hakuruutu, joka osoittautui Lukalle energiatasoon nähden aivan liian raskaaksi.

Muuten hyvin mennyt koe, mutta väsymys painoi ja hakutyö oli siksi vähän tehotonta ja tuloksena jälleen ALO2. Lukan koepöytäkirja

The Leppävirta test was held during a weekday and unlike the usual procedure all dogs had to register at the same time. As fate would have it, Luka was unlucky enough to get the last spot so we had an extremely enthusiastic dog sitting in the car waiting for his turn while every other dog had theirs. And as you can imagine, Luka was quite tired when his turn finally did come.

The test started with a guided retrieve angled away from the shoreline after which their was a double mark into the water and shoreline rushes. After the marks there was the free search that was mainly in the fairly moist and heavy shoreline which was Luka’s downfall.

Otherwise the test went well, but Luka was tired and thus his free search suffered and he got another second prize in beginners class.Luka’s evaluation

Haku: Hakee tehokkaasti alueen etuosan mutta takaosa jää tarkastamatta.

Free search: Works efficiently in the front part of the area but does not check the back part.

Ohjattavuus: Selvittää tehtävän.

Guided retrieve: Completes the task.

Paikallistamiskyky: On epävarma toisen riistan putoamispaikasta, mutta saa sen kuitenkin talteen.

Marking: Is uncertain about where the second mark dropped, but is able to retrieve it.

Riistankäsittely: Hyvä.

Game handling: Good.

Yleisvaikutelma: Aloitta kokeen hyvin, mutta kokonaisuutta heikentää hakutyössä alueen takaosan kattamatta jääminen.

General appearance: Starts the test well, but overall his performance suffers from not covering the entire search area.

Kootut selitykset: Jo koetta aloittaessa Luka oli selvästi väsynyt, joten en ihmettele että hakualueen takaosa jäi kattamatta. Tietysti jos herra oppisi nukkumaan koepaikalla sen sijaan, että odottaa koko ajan omaa vuoroaan niin sitä voisi jaksaa paremmin. Nyt Luka oli kuitenkin odottanut 14 muun koiran suoritukset ennen omaa vuoroaan.
Excuses: When starting the test Luka was clearly tired, so I’m not at all surprised that he didn’t cover the entire search area. Of course, if he’d just learn to sleep while waiting for his own turn he might have a bit more energy. Now he’d waited (awake) for 14 other dogs to complete their tests first.
