Kootut selitykset: No, koitti sitten sekin päivä, että Luka rikkoo riistaa. Loppupelissä linnusta ei mennyt kuin pari kylkiluuta rikki ja sekin kun pitkäkuono pakkasi lintua syvemmälle suuhunsa. Mistään vakavasta ei siis ole kyse. Ohjaus oli ihan vaativa luokkaan nähden, mutta Luka suoritti sen ongelmitta ja siitä saa olla erittäin tyytyväinen.
Excuses: Well, the day came that Luka broke some game. In the end, he only broke a few ribs when correcting his grip deeper into his long muzzle. So it isn’t a serious problem, just an accident. The guided retrieve was challenging when considering Luka’s class, but he completed the task without problems. So there was that to be happy about.

Hyvin muotoutunut pää, jossa hyvät silmät ja korvien kiinnitykset. Hyvä luusto, kylkikaari ja ääriviivat. Linjakas ulkomuoto ja hyvä hännän kiinnitys. Lupaavan nuorukainen, jonka takaliike tarvitsee lisää voimaa. Esitetään hyvässä turkissa.

Sunnuntaina 8.8.2010 oli viikonlopun kuumin päivä ja koiria tuli viilennettyä tavalla jos toisellakin. Vaikka helle ja väsymys painoivat, Topi jaksoi esiintyä iloisesti ollen jälleen paras urospentu. Sunday 8.8.2010 was the hottest day of the weekend and the dogs had to be cooled off by one way or the other. Even though Topi was hot and tired he was happy at the ring and was best male puppy. Topi got HP also today and was BOB puppy. The judge was Frank Whyte from UK. Topi’s evaluation

7 months old. Very good type. Not big one. Well balanced. Lovely head. Good neck, topline, tailset. Upperarm could be slightly better angulated. Good body and hindquarters. Still loose in movement. But anyway he moves very well for his age. Nice coat. Nice temperament.

7 kk vanha. Erittäin hyvä tyyppi. Ei hirveän iso. Hyvin tasapainoinen. Ihastuttava pää. Hyvä kaula, ylälinjä, hännän kiinnitys. Olkavarsi voisi olla hieman paremmin kulmautunut. Hyvä runko ja takaosa. Vielä hieman löysä liikkeessä. Mutta liikkuu erittäin hyvin ikäisekseen. Hyvä turkki. Hyvä luonne.

Very nice head, very flat skull. Good teeth. Nice shoulder angulation. Good bite. At the moment cowhocked, hopefully grows on her [grrr…] feet. Nice outline. Nice moving on the side.

Erittäin mukava pää, litteä kallo. Hyvät hampaat. Hyvät olkakulmaukset. Hyvä purenta. Tällä hetkellä pihtikinttuinen, toivottavasti kasvaa jalkoihinsa. Hyvät ääriviivat. Liikkuu kivasti sivulta.

Beautiful dog. Classical type. Good long head with the darkest of eyes and the correct sweet expression. Good reach of neck, good lay back of shoulders. Adequate upperarm. Excellent bone. Good feet. Good length and depth of ribcage. Good topline. Correct tail set. Good hind angulation. He flows from head to tail. Sound on the move. He needs to get his head up off the ground.

Kaunis koira. Klassinen tyyppi. Hyvä pitkä pää ja tummimmat silmät sekä oikea miellyttävä ilme. Hyvä kaulan pituus ja oikea-asentoiset lavat. Riittävä olkavarsi. Erinomainen luusto. Hyvät käpälät. Nice head with dark pigment. Ex[cellent] length of neck. Good layback of shoulder. A little upright in upper arm. Level topline. Well-set tail. Good bend of stifle. In lovely hard condition. Moved with drive from the rear but a little loose in the elbow.

Mukava pää ja hyvä pigmentti. Erinomainen kaulan pituus. Hyväasentoiset lavat. Olkavarsi hieman liian pysty. Tasainen ylälinja. Hyvä hännän kiinnitys. Hyvä polvikulmaus. Ihastuttavan kovassa kunnossa. Liikkui voimalla takaa, mutta hieman löysin kyynärin.

Joensuu ja noutajien erikoisnäyttelytand retriever specialties

Mikä päivä!

Topi oli kymmenestä flättipennusta paras ja sai siis rodun päänäyttelyssä BIS-pennun tittelin. Tuomarina oli Louise Jones (kennel Braemist), jolla on yli kolmenkymmenen vuoden kokemus rodusta. Kotiimme tuli muiden palkintojen lisäksi myös vuodeksi suuri Hestian Malja -kiertopalkinto kansioineen, jossa on menneiden vuosien BIS-pentujen tietoja. Topistakin pitää sinne koostaa oma sivunsa ja kaiverruttaa pokaaliin Topin nimi.

Sulo kävi myös kääntymässä kultaisten erikoisnäyttelyn käyttöluokassa ja sai englantilaiselta kasvattajatuomarilta EH:n sekä varsin mukavan arvostelun.

What a day!

Topi was the best puppy out of ten in the Finnish flatcoated retriever society’s specialty and became the BIS-puppy. He was judged by Louise Jones (kennel Braemist), who has over thirty years of experience with flatcoats. In addition to the other prizes we get to host the large Hestian Malja challenge cup trophy and the folder that follows it containing some information on the previous BIS-puppies. We’ll have to create a page for Topi and have his name engraved on the trophy.

Sulo also went for a spin in the working class ring in the golden retriever specialty. He got quite a good evaluation from an English breeder-judge and his final result was very good.

Nurmes NOME-Bhunt test

Tiukan koekuukauden viimeinen startti oli yhdistyksemme omissa kokeissa. Tällä kertaa Liperin tuttujen maastojen sijaan koe järjestettiin Nurmeksessa, jossa oli sateinen päivä ja mielenkiintoinen koemaasto.

Koe alkoi pitkällä vesimarkkeerauksella, jonka jälkeen jatkettiin pienellä hakuruudulla koealueen oikealle puolelle, josta piti noutaa kaksi riistaa. Haun jälkeen oli ohjaus lahden yli. Luka oli flätti ja yritti mennä rantaa pitkin lahden pohjukan kautta koska vedessä ei näkynyt mitään. Ohjauksen jälkeen siirryimme markkeeraukselle lahden pohjukkaan ja sitten hakuruutuun lahden pohjukan puolelle.

Koe ei loppupelissä ollut mitenkään älyttömän vaativa. Tällä kertaa Lukan flättiys oli vain niin vahvaa, että linjalle lähettäminen ei vain onnistunut. Tuloksena uran jo viides ALO2. Lukan koepöytäkirja

After a hard month of hunt tests the final start was in our clubs own test. This time we went far away from the familiar areas in Liperi up to Nurmes on a rainy day but found some interesting terrain.

The test started with a long water mark followed by a small free search in the right portion of the area – there was a bird and rabbit in the area. After this was the time for the guided retrieve over a small bay. Luka was a flatcoat and tried to go along the shoreline at the end of the bay since he couldn’t see any game in the water. After the guided retrieve there was a single mark to the end of the bay and then some more free search in the same area.

All in all, the test wasn’t too difficult. Luka was just too much of a flatcoat and used his own brain that the guided retrieve just didn’t work out the way the judge wanted it to. In the end Luka got his fifth second prize in beginners class. Luka’s evaluation

Marking: Goes around along the shoreline to the first mark. Retrieves the second mark independently but could be more direct.

Riistankäsittely: Pääosin hyvää, osa luovutuksista voisi olla parempia.

Game handling: Mainly good, could sometimes return to hand better.

General appearance: A dog that completes both the free search and marks well today, but whose prize is lowered by the failed blind retrieve.

Kootut selitykset: Saamarin flätti! :) Ei voi mitään. Luka näki ettei vedessä ollut mitään (ohjauksella) ja lahdukan pohja oli niin siinä hollilla, että rannan kautta kiertäminen olisi varmasti ollut nopeampaa… Ja sitten sillä toisella markkeerauksella piti tehdä mutka ja käydä äskeisen ohjauksen kohta tarkistamassa ensin. Hyvinhän tuo koira toimii, mutta kun sillä on ne omatkin aivot…
Excuses: Damn flatcoat! :) Well, it couldn’t be helped. Luka saw that there wasn’t anything in the water (during the guided retrieve) and the shore of the bay was so close that going along the shoreline would have surely been faster… And then on the second mark he had to go check the place where the guided retrieve would have ended and then retrieve the mark. He does work well, but unfortunately he has his own set of brains…
